EMPLOYEE HEALTH IS KEY TO BUSINESS SUCCESS

Investing in the health and wellbeing of employees can save businesses billions of dollars every year.

In 2018, organisations in Malaysia are reported to have lost on average 73.1 days of work time per employee in a year due to absenteeism* and presenteeism*. This is estimated to have cost an employer RM2.27 million per year on average!

Identifying and addressing risks to employee health is therefore critical to business success.

Given that so much of our time is spent at work, we have created the Healthiest Workplace Survey by AIA Vitality – a comprehensive science-backed workplace survey to understand, measure and ultimately, improve health and wellbeing at the workplace.

*Presenteeism refers to a scenario when an employee clocks in but is unable to perform work due to health issues, loss of concentration from lack of sleep, or stress, among others.

AIA VITALITY AGE

The Healthiest Workplace Survey by AIA Vitality uses a scientific measure of “AIA Vitality Age”, which shows the impact of a range of lifestyle, clinical and mental wellbeing risks on an individual’s long-term health. The difference between a person’s AIA Vitality Age and their actual age is referred to as their AIA Vitality Age gap, which corresponds to the predicted impact of these risks on their life expectancy. If a participant is particularly fit and healthy, their AIA Vitality Age could be lower than their actual age. However, for the majority of people, AIA Vitality Age will be higher than actual age.
