It’s a simple but important fact: employee health is key to business success.
Investing in the health and wellbeing of employees can save businesses billions of dollars every year. In Hong Kong for example, the average monthly cost of health-related absence and presenteeism per organisation is estimated at HK$3,048,656*.
Participation in The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality gives employees a comprehensive overview of their health and wellbeing in terms of lifestyle, clinical indicators, mental health, stress, and other areas that may concern them. Each participating employee also receives a personal report detailing their unique AIA Vitality Age.
Given that so much of our time is spent at work, we believe that it’s important to understand, measure, and ultimately, improve, wellbeing in the workplace. That’s why we have created The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality.

Research and analysis for The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality is conducted by our Academic partners, RAND Europe, and academic institutions across the region. The academic institutions assist RAND to validate the survey questionnaire and findings in each market. Research focuses on understanding productivity loss and how workplace wellness strategies can be employed to reduce this loss.
The Healthiest Workplace Survey by AIA Vitality uses a scientific measure known as “AIA Vitality Age”, which shows the impact that a range of lifestyle, clinical, and mental wellbeing risks have on an individual’s long-term health. The difference between a person’s AIA Vitality Age and their actual age is referred to as their AIA Vitality Age gap, which corresponds to the predicted impact of these risks on their life expectancy. If a participant is particularly fit and healthy, their AIA Vitality Age could be lower than their actual age. However, for the majority of people, their AIA Vitality Age will be higher than actual age.
